• When people visit churches they consider many things—teaching, music, age groups, children's and youth ministries, opportunities to serve. What you might be looking for may be dramatically different from the person next to you—or it could be exactly the same.

At First Presbyterian Church of Mount Holly, one thing remains consistent: we strive to be the kind of church God intended—a community of believers called to honor God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ.

Our congregation spans many generations, and people at every stage of faith. We welcome those seeking God and his truths, regardless of their questions, their baggage or their experiences. Whatever you're looking for, you mean something to God, and therefore, you mean something to us. You're always welcome here.

We know it can be a little unnerving to step into something new, especially when you're not exactly sure about the way things work. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about FPC to give you a snapshot of what our church looks like week to week. We hope this helps to address the issues that matter to you.

What you'll find when you attend FPC, is a faith community that strives to make our relationship with Jesus Christ central to who we are and what we do. Practically speaking, that means the some of us are just checking out Christianity for the first time, while others have been in church our whole lives. Our attenders span all different ages and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome.

Each Sunday morning we gather at 10:00 am for a convergent worship experience employing both traditional and contemporary elements brought together with the sole purpose of  honoring and praising God.

Our worship service is typically about an hour long.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? First and foremost come as you are. We encourage you to dress in whatever way makes you feel comfortable. Most importantly though, we look forward to seeing you, not what you're wearing!

We want you to feel as welcome as possible. The order of worship is printed in the program you receive when you enter, and together with the TV monitors, gives all the information you need to follow along and participate as you feel comfortable. We ask you to sign the Connection Card inserted in your bulletin to help us begin to get to know you.

An offering is received in every service as an act of worship and thanksgiving to God. We believe that the finances of the church are the responsibility of our Covenant Partners (members), so if you do not wish to contribute, just let the plate pass by.

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN … do they come into the service with me, or is there something going on just for them?

Children are welcome in the worship service, however there is a nursery available for babies and young toddlers. We also offer a Children’s Worship program for which children Pre-school through 4th grade to spend time in God’s Word at an age appropriate level.

  • When you arrive at First Presbyterian Church you will park in our parking lot (which you get to by turning off of Garden St. onto Cherry St.), you will be greeted by our team of greeters, and you will be checked in by our team. You will be given a Worship guide at the entrance; which will help you follow along in the worship service and let you know about upcoming events, you are free to find a seat in the front lawn wherever you would like. We have lawn chairs available for use if you do not bring one of your own.

If you have children, your children have the option of attending Children's Worship which is for preschool-4th grade children, they will be checked into children's worship upon arrival and you will walk them up to our children's space for drop off. After the service you will pick your children up in the same location. Our team of greeters will be happy to show you the way upon arrival.

For more information about how we are protecting you and your children during Covid, check out the Worship tab above.

  • So what's next? You are invited to join us for our Pathways class. Over the course you will have the opportunity to meet several of our great congregation members and ministry leaders, and also learn more about who we are as a church including our history, vision, core beliefs, and our overall leadership and ministry structure.  Pathways will also give you the chance to explore ways to get more fully engaged here, including community groups, and service opportunities.  By attending you are not making a commitment to become a member, although you will have the option to do so at the end if you wish.
