The following guidelines are provided in order to honor the dedication and service of our staff and volunteers and protect their safety and the safety of the congregation.
The pastor/head of staff, or designee shall institute service cancellation and notification. Statement from current policy:
FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER
Church services or other activities at the church or sponsored by the church WILL BE cancelled if:
- A state of emergency has been declared and driving has been discouraged
- Snowfall has exceeded 6 inches and /or is still falling so that the walkways and parking lot have not been cleared and made safe
- Hurricane conditions exist with high winds and torrential rain making travel unsafe
Church services or other activities at the church or sponsored by the church MAY BE cancelled if:
- Snow is predicted to be falling at about 1 inch/hour at the time of the scheduled activity
- Heavy rain with flooding is predicted at the time of the scheduled activity
OTHER POSSIBLE REASONS FOR CANCELLATION:
- Structural damage that renders the building unsafe
- Failure of church heating or electricity that renders the church unfit for service or activity
